We lost our home, our cars, and all of our contents (with the exception of one room), but all four climbed safely from our basement where we took shelter with nothing more than cuts and bruises. Thank God for the 3 minutes of warning we had and for keeping us, and thousands of others in our small town safe! Above I mentioned we lost everything we own but the contents of one room . . . Guess which that room was? My scraproom! It was a bedroom in the Southwest corner of the basement, and ironically, had no water lines in the ceiling. My scrapbooks, my supplies, and years and years of family photos were all saved!
I truly miss card making and scrapbooking. 95% of my scrap supplies are in storage while we rebuild our home. I've made a few cards here and there, but haven't done any layouts. I truly hope to be back "home" for the holidays and to spend this winter in my new craftroom!
I came across a couple of pictures today of projects I finished just before the tornado, so thought I would share them. The scarecrow is a copy from something I saw on Pinterest, using the SU Top Note die. Love that die! Oval and round punches for his eyes, pennant punch for his nose, and a hand drawn mouth. He's so cute! Love these people who come up with such great ideas.
For the last several years, I've been making gift tags and packaging them in sets of 10 or 12 for a Christmas fundraiser at our church. They are so fun to make, even when making about 120! I really loved them last year and am hoping to do some new ones next month!
Thanks for viewing. Hopefully I still have some followers after being MIA for so long :)
What an amazing story Kim. I bet you all felt lucky to be alive. Best wishes to you and your family on returning to your home in the very near future.
ReplyDeleteI hope your new home and life is coming along and returning back to normal. Even though it's been over a year, I'm sure time has just flown for you. I have enjoyed your posts in the past, I have a bazillion Disney photos that I have not scrapped, so I enjoy getting inspiration from your projects. Take care of you and your family. The blog is at the bottom of the list of priorities. God bless and all the best to you.
