Baseball layout for 12x12 frame

My daughter and I worked together to create this single page layout to fit  a 12 x 12 frame.  It was her boyfriend's 15th birthday in September, so this was one of his gifts.  He loves playing baseball, and played over 70 games in 4 states this past summer for the Monster Baseball Club.

The baseball field is cut from the Baseball Solutions cartridge.  I used SU! cardstock, and grass covered DSP.  The letters and numbers are from Varsity Letter (Lite), and all other cuts are from Sports Mania.  Oh, a friend cut the "squiggly" M in Monster for me that she created using SCAL (Thanks Heidi!).  Pitcher's mound, home plate, and the bases are popped up, although you can't tell from the photos.  Lots of ink distressing, just a touch of ribbon, and a few star brads in opposite corners finished the layout.

Clear stamp storage cases

The creative juices were NOT flowing this weekend.  I was trying to work on 12x12 layouts, and nothing was coming together for me, so I started organizing and rearranging my scrap room.

For the most part, I use Stampin' Up! products.  I only have a handful of clear stamps that aren't SU -- 5 or 6 Bellas (how can we resist them?), a few from the Splash Dance line, and 3 sets of Peachy Keen.  I purchased the clear storage cases from SU a while back, just had never taken the time to organize my non-SU stamps.
Once I put the stamps in the cases, I couldn't put them away as they were!  They needed spiced up just a bit, so here's what I ended up doing.  They're pretty basic, but not bad for not having any creativity at the time :)

High School Football layout

You remember that great feeling from high school of beating your biggest rival?  Our oldest is a sophomore now, and going to the same high school as DH and I did.  The same rivalry, between the same two schools, still exists after more than 25 years.  Tomorrow night is the sophomore game, which got me thinking back to the freshman game from a year ago, and our big win, so I made a layout tonight.  Last year as freshmen, the boys won 26-7.  I'm hoping for the same type of game tomorrow night!  The title of the layout may seem a bit harsh, but it's all part of the decades-old rivalry against the Redbirds.    :)

I used Alphalicious and MS Seasonal Cakes for the fonts.  The words TASTES and CHEWING are cut from a textured paper intended to appear as a leather football.  The only place I've ever seen the paper is at Hobby Lobby.  Redbird is made from felt letters.

All other cardstock is from Stampin' Up (as usual).  I used Old Olive, White, and Crumb Cake (which is no longer called CC).

The football paper is from one of my favorite web stores, TheScrapCabana. The redbird from 50 States.  I made the "no" symbol with George and CDS.

Fireman Birthday Frame

A few posts back, on the last Disney Pixar Blog Hop, I showed a Minnie Mouse frame layout for my niece's 2nd birthday.  This latest frame layout is for my nephew's 3rd birthday.  I've made them frame layouts for their birthdays each year, matching the party theme.  My nephew's party in May was a "fireman" theme.

The badge and fireman were cut using Everyday Paper Dolls -- no surprise, I know.  The fire truck is from Boys Will Be Boys.  EDPD had a fire truck also, but I really like the ladder and a few extra details on the truck from the Boys cart. I added eyelets to the center of the wheels, popped up the ladder, the hose, and the wheels, as well as the badge (which came from the policeman page on EDPD).  You probably recognize the cute little fireman's face, and know he's made from Peachy Keen :)  Love her stamps!  Card stock is all SU!, except for the gold metallic used for the badge, and the black swiss dot background, which is Bazzill.  Here are a couple of close-ups too.

As always, thanks for stopping by.  You know I love to read your comments, so leave me one if you have time!
